My friend is 4 months pregnant and was feeling pretty awful. Unfortunately, on top of her pregnancy symptoms, she was involved in an accident at the weekend, and has broken her leg. Fortunately the baby is fine!

She lives 300 miles away, so I want to send her something to cheer her up. Have you got any ideas at all about what might be good? I was thinking flowers and an Amazon voucher?

How about a box of sunshine? It looks like a really nice, thoughtful idea. If you type box of sunshine into google lots of photos and info will come up but basically it's a box full of cheery looking yellow things, sweets, chocolate in yellow wrapper, cup, anything you think she'd like and can find in yellow really x

I think anything you send her will be much appreciated! It will just be nice to know you are thinking of her.

Has she professed a new found love of a food? (I got pretty obsessed with pineapple) perhaps you could make it a 'survival package' and put in some sort of thing that she's into there too?

There's a company that delivers brownies - I think it's called the brownie post. Even does gluten free ones if needed. It's a bit different and nice. I really liked mine when I got them as a surprise.

Maybe a boxset or something to keep her occupied as it sounds like she may be housebound for a while?

Would it be possible for you to visit her for a night or two?

That would be the ultimate cheer up for me - knowing that my friend had made the effort to come and see me and just have a nice natter - Amazing! Although I understand not always financially or otherwise possible.

I was thinking some sort of 'survival' box as well, a nice mix of healthy and a few naughty snacks. Is she a book person or add a few pamper products like moisturising cream (things that can be used outside of the bathroom due to the cast)

Thank you everyone! Love the idea of a survival box. I think I will put in some funky nail polishes, a good book and a DVD. And party rings as she's quite addicted at the moment. Possibly a naice moisturiser. I also just found some amazing cast covers online so I've ordered her a funky one with flowers on it!

Planning to visit in 2 weeks as well. Just wanted to send something as a bit of a 'hug in the mail' in advance of an actual hug!
