4D ultrasound

Hi ladies,

If anyone has had one- how many weeks were you and were you happy with the outcome?

The OH wants to get one just to find out what the mystery fourth dimension is!

The 4d is a video, I had a HD scan at 33 weeks and it was amazing, really clear and even better for getting a good deal on groupon

I had one at 27 weeks on the basis that everyone I knew who'd had one raved about it! Have to say I was really disappointed with mine though. My DVD is about 10 minutes of fuzzy guff and I only got 1 decent picture. I think I fell in to category of being a bit unlucky but quite not quite crappy enough to be offered rescan iykwim? One of those things that are great if you get good pics but alot of luck involved. I wouldn't do it again tbh.

I had one for our DS- went at 32 weeks, scan wasn't clear so was offered a second one at 34 weeks. Once baby gets too big you can barely see anything as its all abit squashed! I would say 28-32 weeks is best.

I'd also suggest going to a smaller clinic - they are more likely to offer a rescan if the first one isn't too successful!

I was advised by the sonographer that the optimal week to have one is 26weeks.. i had one booked for this Saturday when I'm 26+1 but I forgot to tell dp so he's now working so I had to rebook for when im 28+1.. oh well! I'm so excited x

I absolutely loved mine!
I got mine at 28+4 as I was told around 27-28 weeks was best although I've seen pictures other people have and they're really good even if they're done later.

I've added my pictures because I love them, considering he was being stubborn and wouldn't move his hand I think we got a few really good ones! I can't stop staring at them.

Had mine at 28 weeks and got 8 amazing images!! Crystal clear with fat cheeks defined nose, coy smile and many waves :-)

mine was Liverpool, bit far for you! It was Lovely to take the other children to see as well, we don't know the sex but we do know that it looks like it's sister now

Thanks everyone. I'm sold and will be booking my 4D scan for around 28 weeks (currently 24 so not long to wait!).

Frills he's absolutely lovely, such gorgeous features and full of character.

Hotpot bit far to travel unless I'm up visiting (I'm from that neck of the woods originally). Glad it went so well for you, must have been super restrained not to have a sneaky look at old apparatus!

Roast sorry yours didn't go as you'd hoped. Agree it's totally down to luck.
