Are you ready??

I am due 4/10/15 (feel that he is going to go well over as he is very comfortable according to consultant at last scan)

I've got hospital bag kind of ready (sure I'm forgetting something - HELP!!!!) and by the front door.

Baby clothes are washed and ready (will wash again maybe a week before he is due.

DH asked for his own hospital bag (he is a diva!!). Anyone else got a diva dh/dp??

I've been crocheting like a mad woman making random shit nice things for DD and baby.

Moses basket is set in room.

Buggy is ready. Dh needs to get used to putting it up and down..

Wax/pedicure/manicure all booked for a week before he's due so that I look vaguely naice.

I'm due October 15th by LMP but 20th by scan dates.

I'm not ready at all. Not even a little bit. I'm moving house next week to an area I hadn't even heard of until two weeks ago So I haven't bothered sorting out DS old things yet as i will just have to pack them all up again to move.

I'm going to be running round like a blue arsed fly trying to sort things once we've moved aren't i?

My first came two weeks early so I am hoping that this one stays put until at least my due date.

Dh packing his own small bag is actually not a bad idea. After several days of not leaving the hospital my dh was thankful of snacks, a clean t-shirt and a toothbrush!! near the end I did not let him go to the restaurant so if he had not packed cereal bars he would have been even more tired ( sleeping on plastic bucket chair is not the best!) and grumpy ( and useless!)

I'm due October 2nd. We're so ready!

Having a home birth which was a bit of a sticky subject over the last week, bloody hospital being difficult, but I've just had the confirmation today and we're good to go. I'm picking up the birth pool this afternoon.

The nursery is decorated. All the towels, nappies and clothes are washed and sorted, moses basket in situ, car seat waiting by the door (just in case)

I've got my emergency hospital bag packed. Just need to make sure we have a good supply of tea bags, milk and biscuits (for the midwives!)

Dh is a bit of a faffer so he's on high alert with his 'list' double checked and stamped.

Just have to wait for the baby now.

Am due 15th Oct and am nearly ready. This is my baby no. 5 but DP's baby no.1. I have got the cot and pram and a few clothes. Will wait until baby is here to buy more.

All of my pregnancies have gone way overdue so trying to mentally prepare myself for another 2 or 3 weeks on top, whereas I am secretly hoping that as this baby has a different father it may not be so bloody late!

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 14/09/2015 11:42

Due on the 3rd. Mostly prepared, but keep wanting to get more. Keep forgetting the bleeding muslin cloths! I keep having a 'feeling' baby will either come before or very slightly after due date, but obviously a waiting game. Has to arrive before the 13thth of Oct, otherwise might miss a family member's flying visit.

Due 8th October but getting an ELCS 2 weeks today. In practical terms (ie all kit and caboodle) - ready. Mentally prepared? No chance. Keep waking in the night in a cold sweat panicking, and silently apologising to my children because I feel like their perfect little world is going to collapse into a black hole of breast milk and sleepless nights.....

SoontobeMommyof2 · 14/09/2015 13:50

I'm due 23rd with ELCS on 19th.. hoping it would of been earlier with Polyhydramnios but oh well.

Not packed my hospital bag, got everything though. And as for cot etc nope not set up yet. Still at work till 16th October..

You all finished work now?

Poppytime · 14/09/2015 14:43

Hello! I am also due 2nd October - pretty ready apart from not quite knowing what we are going to do with DD (2) if I go into labour in the middle of the night...need to work that one out sharpish! Hospital bag packed - good reminder re OH bag, will get him to do this week. Dd was pretty much bang on due date so wondering if this one will be or even earlier....can't wait for some sushi and a glass of wine, don't know about the rest of you?!

stateoftheart · 14/09/2015 15:15

I am still at work soontobe, have 4 days left spread out over two weeks as have a/l to take.

Completely exhausted today though.

The chat thread is over here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2382561-October-baby-bus-take-4-20wk-scans-and-big-pram-buying-plans

(If you look at how busy that topic is, you'll see why it needs a separate one. All other pregnancy issues would be swamped out if it came into this one).

SoontobeMommyof2 · 14/09/2015 15:26

I'm taking my A/L at the end to avoid too many weeks at SMP. I have negotiated flexible working hours which helps a little.

Doublebubblebubble · 14/09/2015 21:13

soon my mat leave officially starts 5/10/15 - I just have a sit down job so cant really see the point I finishing any earlier.. Having said that my official last day - thanks to A/l is the 23/9/15...probably a good thing lol if this baby is anything like his sister...

Oh yeah... That was the other thing I needed to remember.. DD (I'm rubbish, me) if I go into labour whilst she's at school it should be okay... But what to do during the night... Fuck!! On my to do list for tomorrow then xx

How is everyone doing? Can't decide if I am ready for baby to make an appearance yet or not! Still getting lots of BH and bit of an upset tummy - probably means nothing!
