Best pregnancy books

I'm currently enjoying 'expecting better' by Emily Oster. It's not about fetal gestation but looks at areas such as food advice anf perceived severity of symptoms and puts more of a realistic view on everything. It does deal with some difficult topics though so bear that in mind.

Not strictly about pregnancy, more about when the baby arrives, but it's a great book - Commando Dad. I bought this book for my DH who'd had next to no experience with babies, but I actually found it really useful myself. It's a small book which gets straight to the point - no faffing around reading non-essential sentences when you'd rather be reading the new Harper Lee.

Hi, I have the DK Day by Day Pregnancy Book which is absolutely fab. Each day of pregnancy is covered with lots of pictures and info about how the baby is developing and how big they are at each stage. Also great info about diet, exercise, upcoming scans/tests etc and a section on childbirth and after baby is born. Would highly recommend

edited by Anne Deans, with contributions from specialists in many fields. Very clear and informative, a huge amount of information but presented in a very user-friendly way.

The rough guide to.pregnancy and beyond by Kaz Cooke was great. It had a weekly blog plus a lot of useful information. It also had a ruler for each week to show the apporximate size of the baby. The blog was honest and funny and the rest of the book well researched.
