Has anyone else done this? Going to Caribbean when 6 months pregnant and want to know if anyone else has done same and if it was ok. Thanks

I flew 12 hours at 28 weeks and flew back at 30 weeks (have flown quite a bit earlier than that too) It was ok, I wore flight socks (I don't know if they make any difference), drank a lot of water and moved around hour or so. As far as I am aware the only potential problem is the slight increase in the risk of DVT. It's not particularly comfortable though though, I had an aisle seat but did feel pretty hemmed in (worth it for the carribean though!) Make sure you have a fit to fly letter from your doctor. Airlines only ask for them at 28 weeks I think but might be worth having one.

The only problem I have found with travelling whilst pregnant is that despite being pretty relaxed about pregnancy generally and someone who travels quite a bit (often with work) I have felt quite stressed while I've been away, so haven't enjoyed it as much as I normally would. Before I went away I looked up the closest/best hospital just in case, as I found that it helped to have a plan but that is a purely personal thing lots of my friends have travelled no probs
