Applying for jobs 7 months preggs

Got asked and interesting question today by colleague whose 7 months soon her job is being made redundant but she's thinking of looking for new job ASAP which will kind of make her 8 months if she gets one.

Question is - would you look for work that late in pregnancy or security later or wait till baby is born ?

I'd wait due to the fact that at some workplaces you have to have been in post for 9 months in order to qualify for maternity. Although if she's being made redundant anyway and can find somewhere that will give her maternity straight away she's got nothing to lose!

Her current job will pay maternity pay, not a new one she finds.
