sweep done today, now in agony

Im 40+1 and had a sweep done at 11am. She said i was 2/3cms dilated and my cervix is favourable, i have been in agony ever since she done it with bad period pain and back pain, it doesnt come and go its constant. Is this a good sign?

From what I've read period pain and back ache is a sign it's all starting. I'm 39 weeks here so can't yet say I've been there! Hope you're not waiting too much longer!

Don't want to burst your bubble but I had a sweep Thurs morning @ 40+0 cervix was soft but not dilated), had constant lower back & period pain for a couple of days afterwards but it hasn't come to anything. Fingers crossed yours does!

Still no sign of baby, the pains went away by night time. Have lost my plug since then tho and have been gradually since sunday nite. Getting very impatient now

Aw no x and bless you - it'll happen soon x could the pain have been baby just getting into position? My DD was back to back for a while and that was absolutely agony x that was just before labour began and also, weirdly, just before I lost my plug x good luck x

I had the same and was losing my plug for a few days and then on the fourth day after my sweep my waters popped, so fingers crossed for you

Not sure what the pain was but its all gone now, im still holding out hope of this baby coming very soon

I had the period type pains, lost the plug, then it all calmed down, as soon as I thought that's it it won't happen went into labour! X

I had a sweep the day after my contractions had started. DD born two days later. Fingers crossed for you!

As far as im aware im still 2/3. Woke up at 5am today and been havin constant period pains, so uncomfortable!

I had this after i had the sweep and it went away Sad fingers crossed tho! I forgot how awful period pain was
