Hi I am 6'2" with long legs does anyone know what size birthing ball / gym ball I should be using? All the recommendations I can find only go up to 5'9".

Thanks

75cm. Make sure its fully blown up. Your knees should be lower than your hips when sitting on it.

Thanks for your reply Mabel, but 75cm is what they suggest for people who are 5'9" though?

Hi it depends on the ball, but in general you pump a ball up loads for a taller person and less air in it for a smaller person hth

MabelSideswipe · 23/07/2015 21:29

75cm is for 5ft 9 and taller. 65cm is about 5ft 4 to 5ft 9.

MabelSideswipe · 23/07/2015 21:31

People rarely pump them up enough for their height in my experience.

I just used the largest sized gym ball. I don't know what the difference is between the two, apart from a birthing ball may cost more Confused

Ah great - thanks for your help Mabel.

I got a 65cm one, I'm 5ft 7. It doesn't feel big enough. It's well pumped up and I'm 11 stone at 35 weeks.

Wish I'd gone for 75cm.

I did go to the cheaper end of the market though, so maybe a more expensive one would be more supportive.

I'm 5ft 9 and went for a 75cm, you can get them at 85cm I would have thought that would suit you better as even fully pumped my hips are only just at the correct angle/distance that's suggested

MuddyWellyNelly · 24/07/2015 08:21

Yes I'm only 5'6" and my DH ordered an 85cms. I thought it was too big so he ordered a 65cms which is far too small. No way my knees are lower than hips. And I'm only just over 10 stone at 39.5 weeks. So I'm back using the big one.

75cm would probably have been right for me, so def get the 85!

I'm 5'9 and have the 75cm one and it's just right so I would think that the 85cm would be ideal for you Grumple.
