My waters have gone, 36 weeks today

I'm 36 weeks pregnant today and my waters have gone.

I know I need to ring labour ward to get checked out... Does anyone have any experience of what they do at this stage? Will they let me home to labour? I can feel the start of the contractions, achy back and tightenings which are a bit more uncomfortable than usual.

Only just started to pack my hospital bag, I had a feeling things would happen early due to the amount of braxton hick contractions I have been having. But I didn't think things would happen this early. I'm so unprepared! Moses basket and car seat are still in the loft...

I'd there a chance baby will have breathing problems? I'm so nervous.

Baby will be fine at 36 weeks.

36weeks is great, baby will be fine

Ring the ward and see what they have to say. I haven't laboured in 15 years so no further advice but congratulations. Hope it all goes how you wish and don't forget to update.

Will keep you updated, thank you for the reassurance. I think I am just going into panic mode. I have not got any baby clothes in my hospital bag, better get packing!

I'm 36 weeks with my first, totally fed up being pregnant and ready to have my baby...bet I go 2 weeks overdue!!

My waters went at 36+5. I had no contracroons or other signs. I was induced and had to stay, partly because I has group b strep and ruptured membranes increases the risk to baby. Probably a good thing he decided to make an early appearance as he was 6lb7! Another 3 weeks cooking and he'd have been huge! ! X x

I had my baby at 36+1 I would go in so you can get steroids injections for the lungs - they need to be given 24 hours apart ideally before birth.
Good luck, outcomes are generally good at this stage although we did have jaundice and feeding issues. Hopefully you won't be in too long

Our baby girl was born today at 1.30pm after a super fast labour. She weighs 6 lbs 3 oz so a good weight considering. She is having problems with her breathing so she keeps being taken to be assessed. They have started her on antibiotics as they think she may have an infection.

She is beautiful and her big sister is already in love with her

Feeling tired after such a dramatic day. She was very nearly born in the car, I got raced down the hallway in a wheelchair (kneeling as I could feel the head) and she was out in 3 pushes.
