Despite this being my third pregnancy I've never had them, or been aware of them but now I'm 33 weeks pregnant and my stomach keeps going solid and earlier today it was accompanied by a very quick but sharp shooting pain down below.

Now the bump is going hard and it's quite frankly agony! Brings tears to my eyes and takes my breathe away.

The baby is massively active in between? At the most painful point about 15 mins ago I thought baby maybe flipped over- would that be painful?

Any info or advice would be appreciated!

Thanks

I Have braxton hicks all the time and they are quite uncomfortable verging on painful, especially if they coincide with baby turning over. Is my 3rd pregnancy and this is the worse they have been. The only way I'd describe them is exactly as you said, your belly goes hard, like it's squeezing and kind of squashes my lungs a bit as well , whereas for me, real labour contractions are more at the back and underneath. The sharp pain down below could be baby protesting about being squeezed and if he's feet down might be extending a leg and knocking the cervix area for more space.

Thank you.
I'd say these are pretty much as painful as normal contractions although in both my previous births I've had back pain contractions so pain in my bump is new to me!
Baby was head down but after the last few hours who knows!

Thanks for replying

I've been getting BH for a few weeks now (I'm 39 weeks) and my whole belly goes rock hard. I wouldn't describe them as painful as such, I can talk through them but sometimes struggle to walk through them. They have really been ramping up over the last few days and laast quite a long time now, up to a minute. DS was back to back so I've only really ever had contraction pain in my back too-they are very much in the front and top of my bump.

Thanks Nicky.
It's weird as they were so painful but since about 8pm last night I've had non.
No idea what happened!!!
