Slightly off topic but pregnancy related - work presentation!

I think my work colleagues (my immediate team as well as all the people I interact with/provide support to) have scheduled a 15 minute slot for a 'leaving presentation', presumably to give a card, gift & to say Congratulations & farewell etc. (pretty standard at my place), in addition to a meal out (this I'm not so worried about as will just be my immediate team). I know because a colleague has dropped a few hints & pretty obvious to work out to be fair. No issues except…I'm bloody bricking it!! I hate being the focus at the best of times & I'm envisaging a whole room of work colleagues watching me open presents etc. I will have to say a few words after which will obviously be thank you etc. etc. but has anyone got any tips or advice for not looking like a complete goon (staying professional!)? I'm in a relatively senior role, quite professional & I'm well respected (I think!) so it needs to be a totally different tone to say a baby shower with friends & family! I'm just being a wet lettuce ??

I feel your pain!! I'm a teacher and recently had a surprise assembly to say goodbye and good luck. I thought the staff were going to do a little something in the staff room at the end of the day but no a whole assembly in front of the whole school! They even made me open the presents at the front (I hate doing this in front of friends and family as never know what face I'm pulling or if my reaction is ok). It was all very cringe worthy and I had to make a speech thanking everyone and saying how I would miss all the staff and children (I won't! Ha!) x
