I only got my BFP and I totally forgot ! I just was not thinking I literally just thought as I was slurping the last out the cup !

Please tell me they are pasteurised

All milk is pasteurised! Unless you're drinking it straight from the farm.

Wow, you're gonna have to chill out, you've a long way to go! In a nutshell, almost every half baked thing you are told about eating and drinking in pregnancy is utter bollocks.
Bit of logic (like wondering if there could even be enough unpasteurised milk around to keep mcdonalds in shakes) will be your friend

My understanding was it was advised against because the machines can harbour listeria if not cleaned correctly.

How clean does your local mcds look?

The NHS says soft ice cream is fine. The listeria risk is mainly from poor hygiene standards and stuff getting stuck in the nozzle, as I understand it. McD's have very strict hygiene standards, we'd soon hear about it otherwise. In fact, googling 'McDonalds UK listeria' only brings up a bunch of worried posts by pregnant women. Don't panic, have a milkshake and a McFlurry chaser if you want one!

Mc Ds, for all their other faults, aren't slack on hygiene ;) the machines are cleaned to a high standard. Your local Mr whippy might not be so good but macdonalds don't mess around with hygiene.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but you can't actually buy raw milk unless you do some sort of thing with co op setting up. It's very rare to have an unpasteurised product and it'd be very clearly labelled if it was :)

No really, do listen, because this is bull hockey. It's fine to drink it (pretty sure no-one eats a milkshake). There is a tiny listeria risk with melons. And salad. And butter. And ham. And yes, ice cream, but not just soft.....getting the idea? Good hygiene practices will keep you safe, and it doesn't get cleaner than mcd's, they are obsessive in the food prep.
