Exercise in pregnancy - when to tell?

If you exercised before/during your pregnancy, at what point did you mention it to your instructor/trainer? I know some exercises need to be modified when the bump starts to develop, but would you tell your instructor early in your pregnancy, when you may not have told many other people, or would you wait until after the first trimester?

I would tell as soon as you know.

I have continued to exercise the whole way though so far and told my trainer straight away, although no exercises needed any modification for me until after the 12 week scan anyway.

I'm 27 weeks today and am still exercising, I mentioned it after 12 weeks but see how you feel Smile

I told my instructors as soon as I knew just in case and managed to keep going up until 35 weeks Smile I felt like I had more energy afterwards iykwim even though it's quite tiring being pregnant!

Thanks all - at the moment I'm not doing anything super-high intensity, but I'll have a word with my instructor and see what she suggests!

I told my zumba instructor at 10 weeks, I'm now 31+5 and am still going although last week my hips were killing me after so not sure if I will make many more

My pt knew I was ttc, then I told her as soon as I found out. Better safe than sorry, and it was lovely to have an hour a week where I could talk about the pregnancy to someone other than DP.

I'm an instructor and told my classes around 12 weeks, so they wouldn't think I'm just getting fat Smile

I would prefer if people told me as soon as they know - so I know to show you some options, keep an extra eye on you, remind you to take breaks and not to yell at you if you're not working that hard.

Depends on the sport- if there is a danger of trauma to the bump then tell them immedatly. pole dancing, I told immedatly. Horse ridding, I stopped immedatly. Running, I kept going till I decided I was struggling.

I told my instructor at 6 weeks, he was one of the first people I told.
