I'm looking for some advice. I'm 10 weeks pregnant today and I've just had some pink spotting when I wiped and am having af type cramps. I'm so scared. On my ds pregnancy, I had some bleeding, but it was brown, so old blood. This was an ivf pregnancy and I have heard that we can bleed more in ivf pregnancies but I am so scared. Does anyone have any experience or advice?

I had a bleed that went from pink to bright red back to pink and brown at 9 weeks. Lasted a couple of days and I freaked out completely.

But... Everything seems ok now and the spawn was wriggling around happily at the 13 week scan.

You're at the point where the placenta takes over making the hormones that support the pregnancy/ plugs itself into the maternal circulation for real, and I think there's a lot of scope for bleeds at this point. I've been cramps the whole pregnancy as well.

Also, this whole process is just a whirlwind of tissue remodelling and vascular changes, things are moving, stretching, growing. It's a wonder we don't bleed more!

If it gets heavier, you get proper pain or it doesn't stop, time to seek attention.

Last for the reassuring message, Skiptonlass. I haven't had any more since, so I'm going to wait it out tonight and see how things are in the morning and if there's any more bleeding I'll go for a scan. Just soooo scared!!

I had similar around 8.5 weeks. It wasnt much and stopped. I had an early scan at epu and all was fine..the sonographer told me it was likely the placenta implanting and light pink a good sign. I also had really bad cramps with it, tothe point they woke me at night. All was fine and am now 21 weeks Smile Am sure you will be fine, get checked out if it will ease your mind.

I had that exact same last week when I was 10w, wiped and saw pink blood and freaked out!! Also accompanied by cramps that day and the day before.
Lucky for me I have a home doppler so I went straight to it to find the heartbeat (which took forever)
If your worried call early pregnancy unit in the morning and I'm sure they'll ask you in for a scan. The 1st time I had pink spotting I went to a&e because of having a panic attack about it and they gave me a scan then also.
I'm sure it's okay, Flowers

Sorry to jump on this post!

I am pregnant for the first time and am 10 weeks. I had an early pregnancy scan the other day due to spotting and shoulder pain and thankfully all was ok!! However i am still spotting on and off. It is just when i wipe and can be there for a day and then go again. It is usually very light pink and has been brownish once with a snot like consistency (sorry for too much info) I'm just wondering has anyone else experienced this? Not constant but one day there and another day gone. Everytime i wipe and see the slight pink colour i panic all over again (even after an early scan saying all fine) I'd love to hear from other mums!

Thank you

Hey Acull93 just to say I hope you are okay. My wife and I are in a similar spot, she had a bleed last night (not a huge amount less than a period I'm told) but we went to the A&E anyway.

They referred my wife to the EPVU which we will hopefully get to tomorrow as it's closed today. She has had very little brown spotting today and a discharge which sounded similar to what you described. If we get in tomorrow I'll let you know how it goes. Try and rest.

Hopeeternaldad i hope all is ok with your wife! I had an early scan which showed all ok but im still a worrier by nature. Good luck tomorrow

HopeEternalDad · 22/11/2020 12:12

Hi @Acull93 went well my wife had to go in on her own due to the Covid rules but baby was fine. The bleeding was uteral wall or some such they said nothing to worry about.

Anyone else reading this my advice would be don't panic. From a dad to be's perspective you can feel super useless especially as they won't even let you in the room at the moment but just be there make wifey put her feet up and help where and when you can.

Acull93 · 22/11/2020 12:14

@HopeEternalDad im so happy for you and your wife!!!

We are at the hospital once again after my wife had some more bleeding this evening. From what I can understand it's something called SCH.

At the moment I'm sat in a carpark as they won't let me in to the hospital with my wife because of covid. I'm frustrated, wish I could be there with her and angry that she is having the go through this alone.

This pregnancy ive had period like bleeding and also had clots and tissie like bits in blood at like 9 weeks and was sure I had miscarried. Went for a scan and all was well. I would just say get a scan, i dont know much about IVF process but if you get some extra support just get a scan, get in touch with EPU for a scan or even pay for a private scan.

@HopeEternalDad omg im sorry your going through this. At my booking scan so many men where in the outer waiting area not allowed into the outpatients area with their partners, some visibly upset and it was heartbreaking to watch! I hope all turns out well.
