Hi,

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child but it's been 10 years since my first so I am a little out of touch...

I have called my doctors surgery this morning and apparently the GPs do not bother with the doctors pregnancy tests anymore! So it's just booking in with the midwife. My fiancé & I hope to keep our pregnancy as our special little secret for a long as possible so were wondering how long is it before I need to start making excuses from work for midwife appointments etc. I'm a tad rusty!

Thanks all Smile

I had my first appointment at 10 weeks. It was offered at 9 weeks but I couldn't make that one so I had it at 10 weeks. My next appointment was my scan which was done at 13 weeks and then I saw the midwife again at 16 weeks. I will have another scan at 20 weeks and won't see the midwife again until I am 28 weeks.

I had my booking appointment at 10 weeks.

My midwife booking in appointment was also at 8 weeks. Ours doctors don't need to see you before that either!

Mine was at 11+5 so varies

My booking appointment was at 10 weeks this time (8 weeks last time) and straight to mw, no need to see a gp. One word of caution though, with me they couldn't fit me in until 10 weeks which I though didn't really matter but it seemed to have a knock on effect with my scan that I didn't get until 13+5. The baby wouldn't co operate and they couldn't do the nt measurement so if having the Downs screening means a lot to you make sure they fit you in!!

I am 5+2 and will be having my first mw appt at 8+1. I also feel out of touch as my DS is 6.5 so it has been 7 years since my last pregnancy. You also get less appts with your second than with your first but it has been so long I sort of feel like it is another first pregnancy so I am going to ask if I can have the same number of appts as if it was my first.

I'm having my first MW appointment at 7+1 - saw the GP at 5 weeks but to be honest they didn't actually do anything except make me the appt with MW.
