I feel weird now! As we had feared ourselves up to have this baby on 11th may by C section, and now we are back to due date of 31st May, and all the waiting that goes with a normal delivery! So, has anyone been through this and what happened? And as this is my second baby, first was straight forward birth at 41+6, was your second baby earlier??

Awesome! My first pregnancy was placenta previa and I was terrified it wouldn't move up throughout the pregnancy, I still remember the relief at the 34 week scan Smile

Hi stolen! Did you then go to term? And any others after that?

That's great news. I assume it's quite far away now? If it's still nearish you could ask for another scan maybe at 38 to be on the safe side.
Hope it goes well

I'm having another scan at 36+5, but they are convinced it will definitely be a natural birth!

I'm unsure whether I should say this or not, but mine moved back again. At 33 week scan they said it was away but near, 2cm I think, at 35 weeks it was, ahem, out the exit hole and I delivered a few days later. All fine though, just a shock. I'm glad they are scanning you again to check. It depends on how far away it is though, yours is probably really far away for them to say that whereas mine was still nearish. hoping it goes well and you get the birth you'd like

Hi Abbey, mine is now 2.1cm away, and is posterior. You have scared me now! I have another scan on 8th May, when I will be 36+5!! Did your placenta move posterior, or did they not say?

Ah I shouldn't have said anything. If they've said you are definitely having a vaginal birth though yours must be fine. I can't remember exactly how near mine was as I don't have my notes but it was near not touching and was going the right way for a while. I think (but can't really remember) mine was just under 2cm, as it had to be 2cm to get signed off for the birth centre but I was booked for another scan instead. Mine was posterior all pregnancy but I don't think that matters too much, anterior makes a section more difficult but they can still do it
