16 week cardiac scan ? Anyone had one

Due to previous child having a serious heart problem I'm having a heart scan at 16 weeks . Anyone had one before at this stage. How accurate are they at this point in diagnosing heart issues.

I had one. DDs heart was thankfully fine so it's difficult to say how accurate they are but it certainly seemed much clearer than the 'normal' 20 week scan. The man who did mine said that the only thing that would not necessarily have been picked up was if there was any mild regurgitation through some of the valves. Good luck I hope the scan is ok

Thank you Hun. Was that at 16 weeks you has that heart scan?

I had fetal heart scan at GOSH with all 3 pregnancies but about 20-22 weeks. All well.. More detailed than normal 20 scan check and importantly you have a fetal cardiologist doing it so they know what is normal, what to look for etc. They gave me the 'all clear' on all 3 occasions, so I would think unless it was something very mild, they would pick it up.
