Craving cigarette when I haven't smoked for 7 years!

As title says. Ex-smoker and even then was a casual one, maybe 5 cigarettes a week...more if out. Would quite happily go days or even weeks without one. Quit completely 7 years ago.

But now...omg..I can taste it in my mouth, the craving is that strong. If people are smoking walking down the street, the (gross) smell sends me into a frenzy. I'm obviously not going to smoke but hwta do I do about the craving? It feels weird but I am obsessed and cannot stop thinking about a cigarette. Any substitutes? (as if!)

I can't help, I only quit four months ago. However, the cravings are getting worse, to the point I had such a realistic dream about smoking the other night I could still taste it when I woke up. So much for it getting easier after a month or so of quitting. I cannot think of any substitute, especially one that wouldn't harm baby.

I quit a year ago in prep for TTC, I am now 24 weeks preg and get the odd craving... but if anyone smokes anywhere near me I feel sick and usually get angry - I have become the super annoying righteous ex-smoker that I promised I would ever be.

My MIL left a packet of menthols (EWW) at our house by accident a few weeks ago and I had to hide them as I felt like they were taunting me.... like a chocolate bar or cake that is left out.... any whoo... I wouldn't actually smoke but shocked at the random cravings

I'm 16wks and choking for fags and booze. Never been much of a drinker and quit smoking last year.

Gave up on 6 January - as soon as I found out that I was unexpectedly pregnant. I miss it sooooooooooooooooooooooooo badly. And unlike everything else I've given up since I've been pregnant, I am really determined not to go back after I give birth. I am going to start smoking again when I'm 80 . . . looking forward to it!

I wonder if some strong flavours would help with the craving...like decaf millicano coffee or liquorice. It was the hit I missed when I quit smoking but they are harder to replace when preggers! Hope it passes for you soon, sure it will hormones do weird things to us all.
