Have any of you gone private for an early pregnancy scan just because you could bear to wait until NHS scan?

Would you recommend it? Any inconvenience?

How far along were you? what did you get to see or hear?

I had one at 5+4 as I thought I was further along than I really was and saw nothing! Then went back at 10 weeks and saw a tiny tiny fetus and a heart beat. As I previously had a miscarriage I was very anxious and nervous. I NEEDED those scans to just reassure me that everything was ok (even just at that particular tIme).

I am now 35+3 weeks pregnant and I have spent lots on the private scans and a 3d scan and I would do It all again :)

I had one at 8+3 and then another private scan to find out the sex at 17+2 :) both cost less than £60 and the woman who did them also did scans for the hospital on particular days. It was a great experience both times, she really took her time, talked through everything she could see and showed us parts that we didn't get to see with the NHS scans :)

So, I called Fetal Medicine Centre and book a vitality scan. I'll be 7+1.

Thanks for the advice ladies :)

I've got one booked for 8+3 as I'm a bit nervous this time fit some reason.

I had one at 8 weeks at Babybond for £99 and it was money well spent :) nice to get some reassurance and the 12w seems to take forever to come around! Good luck with your scan :)

Yep!

Got scan at 6+2 and saw bean with thumping heartbeat.
Got scan at 8 weeks to see little bean with arms, legs and head!
Got scan at 10+3 to see kicking babe with 170 Bpm heartbeat.

Got nhs scan today in 3 hours from now at 12+2 and hoping all is well!
