Vulva varicose veins and labour.

I have varicose veins in my vulva, confirmed by my midwife.

She said it won't affect labour and they will go away shortly after.

Looking for some real life experiences though as the pressure that I feel in them is sometimes so immense, I'm worrying that labour will be too much for them!

I had dreadful varicosities with my fourth child. They were horrible and uncomfortable and all I could think about. But, right enough, they didn't cause me any problems in labour, I had an easy home birth. Although I never would have thought it possible, they disappeared fast and left no trace. You will be fine. Chilled cold compresses will make you more comfortable. Good luck.

Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to hear as I'm hoping for a home birth too :)
