Big kick to tummy. Worry?

Nearly 13 weeks pregnant. Toddler kicked me hard in the tummy, below belly button, precisely where I have bump beginnings/ scan picked up baby.

Trying not to freak out. Only just had 12 week scan. WWYD? It was a couple of pretty hefty (well, for a three year old) blows in just the wrong place. Not intentional by the way, just flailing around antics.

Tummy felt weird (sort of bruisedish a bit I suppose, though it wasn't hard enough to bruise) for about ten mins afterwards, but fine since.

Thoughts? Is it possible to hurt baby this way so early?

I think your baby is fine don't worry Smile. There are layers of tummy and water to impact and your baby is tiny @ 13 wks and well protected.

In all my pregnancies I worried about all sorts and was always advised to check out any concerns. So if you are still worried tomorrow call your midwife.

I would call your midwife and ask for advice. If you are rhesus negative they may want to give you anti D.

Im 29 weeks now and last week stacked it and fell over straight onto my front, I got checked out at hospital, and all was fine. Midwife says babies are very well protected, so you should be fine. Its very worrying though.

grain i was in a minor car accident at 12 weeks which was a different kind of impact but spoke to epu and they said everything is still deep within the pelvis at that point and very well protected with fluid etc and not to worry. had dating scan a few days later and everything was completely fine. hope that helps.

I would always advise anyone to ring with any worries, otherwise them worries will probably stay with you until the next scan. Of course like the others have said you and baby are probably fine and I hope that's the case, but talking to a midwife yourself will make you feel better. Wishing you the best

My big baby book says it would take a "massive blunt trauma" to do any harm at that stage. I am sure you are fine. But hopefully mw will be able to confirm to put your mind at rest.

The baby can get revenge on his/her older sibling this time next year!!!

I got kicked in the bump at karate by someone who 'forgot' I was pregnant, (was visibly pregnant, and had reminded him not 30 seconds before that sparing was totally no contact).

Had to attend hospital but both ds and I were totally fine.
