What do pregnant people wear on holiday?

We're looking at holidays at the moment and will be going in around June/July time (hopefully June so it won't be as hot) and I will be 5/6 months pregnant at the time
So, what do I wear around the pool/on the beach? A bikini? A one piece? Would you be offended to see a big pregnant belly in a bikini?
Obviously I'm thinking of the important stuff first ha

Wear a bikini if you want! I did and I'm not the smallest normally. I intend to this year too!

I wouldn't be offended at all by seeing a pregnant lady in a bikini (honestly, you can see MUCH worse sights poolside...)

I honestly think go with whatever is comfortable for you - if you want to get your bump out go for it, and pay no attention to anybody else! Grin. Happy holidays, you lucky so and so!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/04/2015 19:01

Go for it! Although word of warning I burnt very easily in pregnancy, never had before or after, so for that reason only I covered up a bit more.

BlueBananas · 15/04/2015 19:30

Oh good I'm glad it's generally acceptable, I would be much more comfortable in a bikini
Thanks for the warning about burns, I burn quite easily so I'll be extra careful
But plan on spending most of my time fanning myself under a big hat and umbrella looking fabulous anyway Grin

I wore a bikini at 5 months with a clearly visible bump.
My view is , people are happy to have their fat bellies on show so is it's much nicer to see a cute baby bump! Why hide away? Smile

BlueBananas · 15/04/2015 21:17

That's very true wowie there might be some bigger bellies than even mine Shock

Just don't buy a bikini too soon. Your bust is likely to be quite a lot larger by then so you may need a style with bigger cups or with proper bra sizing.

scarednoob · 15/04/2015 22:29

There are some quite cute swim dresses if you decide to cover the bump for some of the trip - something a bit different whilst preggers!

moomoob · 15/04/2015 23:37

I wore a bikini at 27 weeks. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in don't be afraid to show off the beautiful bump you've been growing for the past 5/6mth

Only1scoop · 15/04/2015 23:39

One piece or BK and cool cotton Kaftans

Have a great time.

Took some cut off linen pants which were so comfy also.

You'll need sunblock for your face, otherwise you can get these horrid brown blotches that look like lots of freckles joined together . They take months to fade .

Anyway who objects to a baby bump in a bikini is just weird . Show it off !

Ah, ive dicovered these brown patches have a proper name - chloasma

MrsAukerman · 16/04/2015 09:34

Kirstie allsop has this and hers hasn't faded.

Bikini is a much easier choice too as you don't need to buy from a maternity range.
I bought very pretty bra-sized top and plain black bottoms from different shops. Works well and I can still use the top half now.

MrsAukerman · 16/04/2015 09:35

Also if your tummy is normally a bit wobbly it's probably at its firmest when pregnant. I'd never felt so body confident as when pregnant.
