Just curious as to what cravings anyone's had, and at which stage of pregnancy did they start/end? I'm 9 weeks and I think I've been having cravings but I'm not sure as I seem to crave something different every day (and unfortunately none of it's healthy!) For instance, a couple of weeks ago I was absolutely dying for a McDonalds (I had to restrain myself not to push to the front of the queue), and today I was craving a meatball marinara from Subway so badly, I couldn't even concentrate on my work. I've also been craving penne arrabiatta, my husband's spicy stir-fry and crisps (not together), but only salt & vinegar crisps (I used to be crazy about the Phileas Fogg sour cream & onion taco rolls pre-pregnancy, but now the thought of them makes me feel queasy). I'm trying to eat healthy snacks (fruit, yoghurts, cereal bars etc), but when it comes to main meals, I only seem to want rubbish! What have your experiences been?

I had loads of cravings in my first trimester! When I was still suffering with morning sickness all I craved was tinned fruit cocktail - the cheaper the better - and Muller fruit corners. Then when I was feeling better it was ham and coleslaw sandwiches, every night!

I'm 22+4 now and my cravings seem to have eased off a bit, I just want to eat everything now!!

1st trimster:
Chips and gravy
Cod (breaded)
Mcdonalds milkshake and fries (fries dipped in)
Mcdonalds sausage and egg mcmuffin

2nd trimester:
Olives
Breaded cod with tinned toms (has to be plum toms)
Jacket potatoes (literally with every meal)
ICE!! cannot stop crunching ice.

26+2

With dd1 it was Starbucks milkshake posh drinks and junk food. Dd2 it was green olives and sushi she would barely allow any other food. She is frighteningly clever though Grin

Glad it's normal to crave junk food then! Makes me feel (slightly) less guilty, although I'll have to restrain myself a bit as I don't want to end up looking like a hippo!!

I already look like a hippo - it's too late for me.

I'll just wallow in mud for the next 12 weeks ha!

All the food, all the time. I am a bit of a greedy guts and my main symptom all through this pregnancy has just been eating even more than usual. Thank goodness I'm not getting my usual wine calories!

I sat and ate an entire jar of jalapeños on their own last week Blush

I haven't suffered with sickness at all during pregnancy and I'm hungry all the time for spicy food and crap food... The midwife said to eat every time I'm hungry but it's just not possible. Reading this thread has made me ravenous!!

Long time ago - with DD1 in the last few weeks croissants and star bars (chocolate covered caramel and peanut butter) read later I wasn't supposed to eat peanuts during pregnancy Blush )... anyway it apparently fuelled a massive growth spurt in the last 10 days - had been predicted between 5-6lb on a growth scan and she was just short of 7lb
(on medication etc, so smaller babies to be expected)
DD2 - big mac /whopper - nasty fast food burgers Blush. Looking back I made excuses to get them - eg go shopping in town just before lunch, oh dear I'm hungry I'll HAVE to get a burger (drive through as well Blush) ...
Then in the latter stages M&S sunflower and honey bread -would eat it like cake. Then they discontinued it ...the poor assistant in the shop who told me - such a minor thing...such an extreme reaction - shock, then anger, then tears Blush. I don't think I was rude....I'm hoping she made allowances for me ...even so if you are reading this - I was the mad woman who cried over the Honey and Sunflower bread about 8 years ago and I would really like you to know I'm so so sorry about my over reaction....

unlucky

HAHAHAHA!!!

ChunkyPickle · 14/04/2015 16:21

For the last half of my first pregnancy I was drinking 2-3 litres of orange juice a day... don't know why, but I just needed it - nothing else quenched my thirst.

baby was totally average, so I don't think it had any effect. Didn't have any cravings for my second. Very boring really.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 14/04/2015 17:24

Nutella. I don't even like nutella. I've told my son it's marmite because he hates marmite and I don't want to share.

Sour cream and chive dip with ready salted crisps. Mmmmm.

heatherxo · 14/04/2015 17:48

Between 6 - 13 weeks its was gravy and mash potato
Then it was ham and salt&vinegar crisp sandwiches (they are awesome! Haha)
Now at 27 weeks I'll eat anything I can get my hands on! Oh and fresh OJ - which gives me terrible heartburn but I cant help myself!!

Carrierpenguin · 14/04/2015 18:31

Coleslaw, must be the full fat expensive versions like taste the difference though Grin yesterday I ate it mixed with spaghetti hoops in tomato sauce on toast with butter, in my pregnancy cravings induced state it tasted delicious!!!

MrsAnxiety1 · 14/04/2015 18:52

First trimester:
Very little - I had aversions to virtually everything...
Except apples, which I ate by the sack-full :-/
Fruit and fibre
Salt and vinegar crisps

Second trimester:
Apples again
salad cream
gherkins
toast
walnuts
sweetcorn
