Morning all

I'm in need of advice. On Tuesday night I had to attend emergency obs due to decreased foetal movement - baby is fine. I was dehydrated. Doctor tried to sweep but cervix "high and closed". Did a scan and moved my due date from 19th April to 10th April due to baby size - 8lb7 on Tuesday night.

Fast forward to Thursday night. after some nooky time with husband I experienced some bleeding. Filled one sanitary towel with what I can only describe as red/brown ick. Called midwife and she said normal and not to worry but def not my show. this has continued to be like a brown shot until yesterday when it stopped. again midwife says normal.

last night: pains in back quite high up, feeling sick, emotional and exhausted. this morning have pains where my legs meet my torso.

Tbh, feeling completely on edge, hubby keeps playfully saying "let him come out to play now" and I just can't take it anymore Sad. Im terrified of going into Labour and just want to wake up and it all be done and baby here ..... So any advice?!?!

Is the baby still moving normally?

I'm not a midwife but it all sounds like pretty normal pre-labour to me. It sometimes drags on a bit. You've done the right thing by checking with labour ward when you were worried, but other than that distraction is key. Go for a nice lunch out, or a walk. Watch a boxset in peace!

Yeah baby is still kicking lumps out of me day and night - its probably the best part in all of this Smile

I think I'd feel a lot better if hubby would stop going on about it. it's making me feel really down, like I'm doing something wrong. he doesn't mean to - he just has the patience of a small child and is really excited. every twinge I get he's practically in the car ready to get to the hospital!

Avoiding church today - if I hear "still no sign?" I'll have a sarcy response not suitable for church!!Grin

Have you told your DH that? It's sweet that he's excited and all, but if you're still pregnant 2 weeks from now you'd be entitled to wallop him about the head with a frying pan that's going to get very tiresome indeed.

nicnac1603 · 12/04/2015 06:19

Yeah told him last night while in an irrationally emotional state. I'm usually quite laidback and level headed so I think he knew to stop at that point - shall see how today goes might need to get the frying pan out after all

So did you get like this too TobyLerone?

I think it all sounds normal too. I think its a bit like waiting for Christmas Day and knowing you need to cook for 20 people but you're not sure what day it's going to fall on!

What helped me with DD1 was to plan something nice for each day after I would be 'overdue'; so a pedicure, coffee with my best friend, cinema trip etc. I had to cancel everything as only went two days over, but having stuff to look forward to made me feel better.

I certainly had a week or so of pre-labour symptoms before my waters broke (2 days overdue). I had stop-start contractions which were painful enough to have to breathe through, felt generally knackered and just 'on edge', waiting for it all to kick off.

You'll have your lovely baby soon SmileEnvy

Can I ask what your pre labour signs were?
Good luck nic NAC. I'm 40+1 and all the waiting is getting to me as well. Esp when husband says ...every morning... 'Any sign of little chap yet' I feel like saying ' yes I laboured all through the night, here he is'!! ??

Dogsmom · 12/04/2015 11:41

The brown snot would've been your plug, I lost mine on the day I went into labour with dd1 and after a sweep with dd2 although she wasn't born until 8 days later.
It does sound as if your body is gearing up for labour, very exciting!

chili I didn't have many pre labour signs at all with either although I did have a burst of energy and cleaned the whole house 3 days before dd2.
With both of mine I went to bed with no inkling then was woken up around 5am with definite pains which were early contractions, for me once I had a proper contraction I realised it was the real thing as they felt nothing like bracton hicks.

Thanks..treasures me that it can b no sign to labour if you see what I mean!x

nicnac1603 · 12/04/2015 15:10

Hi chiliplant - I feel exactly the same. With the change of due date from the Dr but midwife saying to ignore that, I'm just lost Sad and this morning I got 3 texts asking if I'd went yet. I swear people are idiots. I understand they care but I can't take many more of these texts.

I've had most of the prelabour signs I think but I wish I could just sit down with a midwife and see what she thinks. I feel like they don't listen to me at all!!
