My mams worried me

Just that really. I've been having tightenings/braxton hicks for about 2 weeks, they don't last long but do take my breath away. They are uncomfortable more than anything. Had 3 within 20 mins at my mams. And she said stomach shouldn't go as hard as it did. (I also don't know if it's baby pushing himself to top of stomach) im 24+4.
Also today I've got pins and needles kinda cramp in my lady bits (have spd so thought it was that) but mams saying I need to get checked over. No answer at hosp day unit so waiting on my midwife calling me back.....is my mam over reacting? It's my 3rd baby which makes me feel worse as I should know

I had very strong braxton hicks with my dc2 around 26 weeks. I used to get them when walking a lot. I was quite alarmed by them to be honest. I started taking the bus instead of walking to places and they went away. Dc2 arrived at 37 weeks.

Are you sure you aren't over-doing it?

I have quite an irritable uterus and have suffered from VERY strong and frequent BHs in both pregnancies. As long as they don't cause actual pain (strong discomfort, yes!) then you don't particularly have to worry. DC1 arrived on their due date so it wasn't a sign of impending premature labour or anything. I'm hoping for the same with DC2!

Try not to overdo it though, because I do find the BHs worsen when I do.

To be honest I've not done much all week but I am tiring easily. So maybe.
Midwife just rang, said to monitor the relax, have bath, take paracetamol and monitor tightenings and go to hospital if they become more painful or regular, said the cramping is normal as when baby turns they press on a nerve.
Thank you for replying. Think I'll treat myself to a ?eekend off work and hopefully be ok x

I would drop a urine sample at the gp to see if it is a uti as they can also cause tightenings

This is my 3rd, my BH's have been very strong this time and from early on!
Currently 25+5 and I get them every day, nothing to worry about, just how it goes Smile
