This is probably one of those how long is a piece of string questions, every woman/pregnancy is different etc. but would be interested to hear from others. DC2 is still hanging on in there, DS1 came at 36 + 2 so personally in unchartered territory. Had a sweep yesterday at 10am, cervix was soft and could be 1cm dilated (although midwife said as DS1 was natural birth it would be a bit 'loose' anyway, how lovely), lost some mucus plug at 8am this morning, a bit more just now, no BH, pains or contractions yet. Am I being impatient, could it be hours or days? DS1 came 4 hours after a show, waters did not break on their own so a little nervous at the speed this time round!

Was days for me after 'bloody show'. About 4 I think. Went into labour at 40+13. DD showed up at 40+14.

No longer than 10 days..helpful? Hope it is soon, I had a sweep at 41 weeks last time and waters broke 36 hours later and bsby turned up 36 hours after that.

With DD, I had a S&S at 40+5, she arrived 40+7. This time I had an S&S at 38+6. Still nothing, despite mega plug loss/bloody show/cramping/twinges etc. Am 39+6 today.

I feel your pain! I am 40 + 3, having my second sweep tomorrow because the first one had to be abandoned - cervix closed and too high (??).

I have had absolutely no signs - no BH, no show, no twinges, not a thing. If it wasn't for the bump attached to my abdomen and the constant kicking / squirming, you honestly wouldn't think there was anything in there!!

My issue now is that every day I'm getting those "any baby yet?" texts. Not even an "hello" or "how are you?".....I've taken to keeping my phone turned off (honestly feels like i have cut my right arm off)!! From about week 38 I have been watching One Born Every Minute every Tuesdays and keep thinking - I'll be watching this next week with a baby. Alas, it is on again tonight and absolutely no sign.

And don't start me one "naturally inducing labour". In the past week alone I have tried the following:
3 fresh pineapples
20 cups of raspberry leaf tea
nipple stimulation
clitoral stimulation (i think the midwife was trying to be funny with that one in retrospect)
sex
curry (every night)
prunes
walking
exercise ball
sitting on all fours
pelvic rocking
climbing hills
climbing stairs over and over

Baby will not budge - I clearly make a great nest!! Mumhum I hope you aren't waiting too long!!!
