Being healthy, too late?

Hello, I'm now 20 weeks and can't believe how fast it's gone. I know I need to be healthy but have I already done too much damage? Don't get me wrong I'm not a smoker, don't drink now and have been taking the vitamins etc but I've not been great at fruit and veg or exercise, I was a size 16 when I got pregnant, I lost a baby at 18 weeks before that and never lost any weight. I've always been a size 14/16 as long as I can remember.

So, motivate me please! Am I too late, can I catch up? If I go swimming now and try to eat fruit and veg more?

Ooh this could be me except I'm 27 weeks. Had the best intentions but I've got a non sleeping toddler and have just moved house (200 miles away) so healthy eating and exercise has gone out of the window. I was a size 8/10 pre DD, still a 12 when I got pregnant with my second and dreading being two sizes up after this one so definitely need to do something. It's never too late IMO, every little helps.

I don't think it's too late? Any goodness helps, just build the exercise very slowly

It's never too late. I would focus on diet above exercise - so plenty of fruit and veg and meat etc, fewer empty carbs.

Don't start some ott exercise programme, but gentle swimming and plenty of walking should be great.

Thanks, I'm so annoyed at myself, before I got married 18 months ago I was swimming a few miles a week, I can't even imagine that now. Right. Kick up the bum time, thanks for the advice and encouragement, more fruit and veg and light swimming it is then Smile

I'm 24 weeks and keep promising to be healthier....

You've not done any damage at all :) a foetus is an amazing parasite which will take whatever it needs from you.

It's always a good idea to eat better and do some excercise, and it'll make you feel good and be healthier, but you've not damaged your baby :)
