Maternity walking clothes? Or anything you have found suitable?

I'm having real issues finding anywhere that sells outdoor walking clothes for pregnancy. Living next to the Peak District I do a lot of walking, I'm out for an hour walking the dog every evening and at weekends we do at least 2 hour treks.

I've got to the point where I can't hold together my usual trousers with my hair band any longer and was looking for maternity alternatives since I'd wear them pretty much every day. Problem is, there seems to be a gap in the market, I can't find any anywhere!

Has anyone got any tips on where to look or any alternatives?

Would pregnancy yoga trousers or similar work? They have a large foldover band on the waist accomodating a growing belly, and you should be able to get them in skinny or boot cut leg. gap or mothercare do these in their active ranges.

In terms of tops; I've just sized up on gym tshirts as I found the pregnancy specific ones just don't fit as they're small to beging with

I usually wear leggings for hiking, with a tunic top or dress, might this be an option? Easy to slip on giant rain pants over the top if it's wet.

I live next to the Peak District and spend a lot of time walking too and i feel your pain! I've started wearing DH's sports track suit bottoms but these are getting a bit uncomfortable now too. I think as it warms up I'll have to resort to tunics and leggings as I haven't found anything else that fits. They don't provide much protection against nettles and undergrowth though. Will watch with interest!

www.mountain-mama.com

This stuff was my treat to myself for having to rein in my outdoorsy activities a bit through pregnancy.
I also stole my dh's merino tops :)

I didn't find anything at the time, but since discovered that climbing trousers are like walking trousers with a big elasticated band at the top, for some technical reason. But they look exactly like maternity walking trousers would. They should really relabel them

I walk the dog for an hour a day (or did when pregnant with DS, poor pooch gets dragged to the park and shops more than long country walks now!) and wore the H&M jersey harem trousers through my pregnancy with DS. They're loose and comfy and great for keeping cool once it warms up!!! Good luck, I swear keeping active through my last pregnancy was what got me through a long and tough labour!!!
