19 weeks, intense cramping, now wiped out

Hi there, hoping for advice / to hear similar experiences? I woke this morning and had intense cramps on and off for half an hour. Felt like trapped wind but a lot worse (and needing to poo but didn't). Was on all 4s and couldn't speak without feeling nauseous. Noticed also my urine dark so drank 2 pints of water over next hour, mint tea and it helped a lot. Now I just feel wiped out, had to sleep for a few hours. The intense cramping affected my whole abdominal area but once they subsided I have been just feeling tender around uterus and dull period pain. I called hospital and they told me to see GP, who I'm now booked with this evening. Obviously worried - I'm 37 and 19 weeks pregnant with my first. Thanks for any info / insights!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would call your midwife for advice.

I had similar pains last week and was told to take paracetamol and relax (I slept for hours!) when I woke up I felt much better, but they may want to check everything is ok Flowers

Do you have a maternity assessment unit you could contact? I wouldn't be waiting till this evening if you can help it x

thanks both. I called the midwife no and was told she wasn't around today so got referred to triage. They told me they couldn't help cos I wasn't yet 20 weeks (19 and 1 day!) but I should see my GP... No answer at our local hospital's antenatal clinic.

What about EPAU?

Have you had any discharge or bleeding?

pomegranate15 · 31/03/2015 16:24

no discharge or bleeding thank goodness. I checked EPU online for my area and it said they see women 6-13 weeks. I leave for docs in an hour but will call them go in after if I have no luck there... Again it's in another city and I don't drive :-/ thanks for your suggestions. It's all a learning experience! x
