Just where does the milk come out?

Hi girls, perhaps a stupid question, sorry:

This is my first pregnancy and I am only 7+2 but my nipples have been getting really pronounced as well as loads of dots all around the areola.

I can't seem to find on the internet actually where does the milk come out?
Is it just the pointy end bit or through all the little dots around it too?

Also when does it happen?

It comes out through lots of wee holes on the pointy bits. When it happens is very variable.

It comes out of the pointy bits. I think most women have six to eight milk ducts but I may be talking rubbish as trying to remember Nct course from years ago

The dots around the areola are just lubrication - I, weirdly, get that when I'm not pg!

montogemry glands are those little dots around I think, the milk doesn't come out of them it comes out of the pointy bit.

It comes out of the pointy bit but out of lots of holes in that, not just one central one.

And this is why we need mumsnet. Pointy bit.

Pointy bit. The bumps are totally normal , they are called Montgomery's tubercles and they lubricate the nipple.

Pointy bit, but you won't see any holes - they're too tiny. I really worried about this pre-DC1 as I couldn't see how it would get out! But it does Grin
