How long did it take Whittington Hospital to call you?

Hi Everyone,

I am 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first. I was wondering if anyone has self-referred at the Whittington recently? I filled in their online form about 10 days ago but haven't heard from them yet. How long did it take for them to call you and give you a booking appointment once you had self-referred?

Sorry if someone has already asked this - I am new on here and still learning the ropes. I did try a search to see if someone has already asked this question but couldn't find any. I am beginning to get a little worried as time is getting on and I would like to get the preliminary chats out of the way.

Thanks in advance for all the help

Give them a call. From memory they send you a letter with your booking in and scan appointments. I didn't receive mine though as they had input the wrong house number so I just called them.

They are pretty busy, I self referred at 7+3 (only remember because I had a viability scan the same day) and was booked in at 13wks with my scan a few days later.

They are very good up there, but as with any busy hospital, you may have to chase occasionally.

Good luck! I had my baby there in December.

Oh Grand. Thanks a lot. I have heard a lot of good things about this place too so looking forward to going in and meeting them. I'll give them a call right away! Thanks very much.

I self referred at 4 weeks. After about 2 weeks I had a letter for scan and booking appointment. They were both for just before 12 weeks. I'm now 14 weeks, so this is recent info. FWIW this is my 4th pregnancy booked with them and it had been the same for all of them. If you have not heard 3 weeks from when you self referred you should call them. Do you want the number?

Thanks bonzo77. I have the number they gave me after I filled in the self referral form. I guess I should just be patient. Its insane these first few weeks, not knowing whats happening to the baby. Every other hour I convince myself that something has gone wrong and then spend the next hour thinking, its probably okay to feel this anxious :P

Yup. Totally normal. Honestly, the worrying changes in its nature and intensity, but it's with you from BFP onwards: my mum still feels the same about me now!

Oh, btw if you are proper worried: pain or bleeding or other concerns, call EPU at the whit for advice. If you get there before midday you'll get a scan! I was there loads with my last pregnancy, and once with this one. If u want their number just ask.

020 7288 3786. Unless it's urgent (bleeding) there is no point going now. Best to call at 9am on Monday morning.

Nope .. all okay for now! But its good to have the number in case there is an emergency. Thanks, ever so much!
