Hi I just wanted to ask if anyone else has experience of a large cyst during pregnancy that then just disappears? had one growing every scan and was getting pain but last scan at 32 weeks they couldn't find it they said it was either the baby blocking it or it had gone but i'm not sure how it could have disappeared i havn't had bleeding or severe pain and she said it would be painful to pass it...

anyone have similar experiences? i'm seeing the consultant next week and expecting them just to discharge me now.

I'm in quite a bit of pain with mine (8 weeks) so my apologies but I'll just hover here and see what answers you get !

ok! yes they are quite painful do you know how big yours is? mine started 3x3 about a year ago, first scan was 4.5, 20 week scan was 6.5 and then say last scan they now can't find it.. i'm not sure if they normally just disappear unnoticed? i suppose it's the best option over surgical removal.

I've suffered from large cysts for a while. I started with a 8x6 cyst just before pregnancy. At 6 weeks it had shrunk to 3x3 and just had a scan at 13 weeks and the cyst had resolved itself. So it can happen!

Is it normal for them to hurt so much? Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about rolling on the floor in agony but it's noticeable pain that's quite distracting. Had another internal ultrasound and after that it's been much worse - bloody gynae acted like she was digging out a tree stump in there...

I was told and also read that they can disappear. Getting mine checked out tomorrow, it has been growing up until 12 weeks' scan and was told to keep an eye on it. Started having pains on the side of the cyst the last few days when I go for brisk walks, so quite worried. Hope yours is gone for good, OP! Congrats!

skiptonlass everyone i know who's had them has had quite bad pain, mine came and went but when it was bad it was pretty bad.

Thank you i'm just quite cynical with these things so not convinced it was just hidden by the baby, yes you might be like me and be put on consultant care for it, i was told if you still have a large one they'll just take it out after babys born.
