Friday I had dark brown mucussy discharge. Saturday morning it turned bright red. Eased off a bit Saturday and then I noticed it a bit Sunday. I understand some women get spotting in pregnancy, but if I was miscarrying, wouldn't it have started properly by now or not??

Sorry you're having this worry. Not necessarily is the short answer. Ive had it go both ways - twice resulting in DCs, twice sadly ending in miscarriage. Ask your GP for a referral to your local Early Pregnancy Unit. Good luck x

I had a scan in Thursday due to previous ectopic. I literally cannot take anymore time off work. It is a new job and I am on probation, a scan would not change the outcome so I feel it is not worth risking my job for, especially as I will need this job so badly if I stay pregnant

That sounds nice and stressful on top of the worry about MCing. What I stupidly didn't say was that with both my MCs light bleeding/brown/pink etc went on for several weeks with numerous scans, actual miscarrying was after 9 weeks with one and 10 with the other. The bleeding got suddenly heavier for me both times (but also did with my 2 children) just before miscarrying.

Be as kind to yourself as you can be. Wishing you all the best

In my experience , if you only had a scan on Thursday and everything was ok, EPU will want to wait a little while before doing another. I had a scan at 8w then red blood the next day, EPU asked me to keep an eye on it for a few days, then I rang again & got a scan. They might be able to make you an appointment for the weekend or a time when you're not at work. Best of luck, it's really stressful but not necessarily a sign that you'll have bad news x

Ask for a scan outside of your working hours. I had bleeding in both pregnancies. One miscarried, the other didn't. Neither one ever got heavier than a period, and with the miscarriage I ended up having surgical management after about a month of bleeding and so many scans. You really can't tell without a scan.

I had a private scan booked for Friday after work as my partner couldn't come to the EPU one and wants to see heartbeat, so I will be able to tell them. I am just nervous about being at work this week an the bleeding gets heavy.
