Hen do before the birth Or after the birth?

I'm trying to decide when would be the best time for my hen do.

Would you have it at 7 or 8 months pregnant or around 8-10 weeks after the birth?? Neither option is great I know!

This is my first baby so I really don't know which would be best. Nor do I have any great ideas to replace what I would have done if I wasn't pregnant. (My partner is willing to assist in any way necessary as he's having a big and fairly decadent stag weekend. I'm slightly miffed at my options ;)

Any advice gratefully received and any ideas of what to do would be fab!

Many thanks in advance :-)

I'd do it afterwards, mainly cos I love a drink and certainly more than one. I'm the sort of mum that still wants my girlie nights out & the odd weekend away even though I've got kids. Obviously you'll need someone capable of looking after baby well & bfing can complicate things, but it can be done.

Are you planning to breast feed? Do you like a beer? How pregnant are you now and how are you feeling?

If you're wanting to bf, not bothered about a beer and feeling great now then do it before.

If you're not going to bf, like a beer and feel rubbish now do it afterSmile

I'd go with after (ds was mix) fed but then I'm a bit of a lushGrin - when I'm not pregnant that is!!

Not my hen do, but my best friend asked me if she should her hen do before I give birth or after. I said before and although I will be around 34 weeks I would rather do it before than commit to something after.

Reasons being I have no idea what our baby will be like, whether she will take well to combination feeding or whether I will still be trying to settle into life as being a Mum. So felt that before was best :)

I went on a hen do at 36 weeks. Was great! Is never have managed it after baby was born. But that's me Smile

I would say before, you can have a great time without drinking to.

I did a glamping weekend in a safari park it was amazing dinner and breakfast included why not go for something like that then people can have a glass of wine with dinner but don't need to get pissed.

We played silly games in one tent and had a laugh something like that would be good.

I got married at 7 months pregnant, I postponed the hen do with the plan of having it after the birth, DD is now almost 2 and a half and the hen do still hasn't happened! So I would say before personally...

It will be a good excuse to leave DP in sole charge of his new DC. So few men do!

After.
