pains in early pregnancy

Am roughly 8 weeks pregnant, aged 42! This will be my 2nd pregnancy. I am currently experiencing aches in my lower abdomen - a bit like period pains and have a brownish discharge - very worried! When I went to see my doctor he kind of dismissed it as though I was worrying unnecessarily! Any advice would be appreciated.

i have been getting AF-type pains and horrible little tiny sharp shooting pains for the past couple of days too. the internet seems to think it's pretty normal, and that it's just things stretching - apparently that's more noticeable in second/other pregnancies - but to take notice if it gets severe or if it is accompanied by bright red bleeding.

if i knew it was completely harmless, it would be barely noticeable as pain, but the worry makes it into agony, if you know what i mean!

i think there is enough evidence out there to relax us, so try not to worry too much - fingers crossed x
