Hi there!

Sorry if this is tmi, but need to ask!
I'm either 4+3 or 4+5 pregnant (going from ov rather than lmp), and the last few days I've been having soft but firm (i.e. not diarrhoea) BM about 5-6 times per day!
I'm usually a regular once a day kinda gal, so this is really odd.

I've had 8 early mcs back to back, and didn't have this with any of them, and have looked through my pregnancy diary with ds and I didn't mention it there either. Is this normal? Or something to be concerned about?

I haven't changed my diet.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and sorry to hear about your mc's. Did you ever find a reason for all your mc's?

I am 14 weeks with my first and certainly remember experiencing more frequent bm (3 times/ day) at the start as well as having to pee all the time.

It doesn't sound like anything to be worried about unless you are having cramping and will probably ease up once things settle down a bit. Must be just the excitement and nerves you are feeling mixed with the increased blood flow to that area. Make sure you eat and drink well and if it persists, raise it with your gp.

I've had it too. I started a thread on here a few weeks ago. It's pretty normal.
Wishing you lots of sticky dust!

It is normal, yes. The hormones of early pregnancy have an effect on bowel movements. For some women this results in constipation, for others it's more frequent and/or looser movements.

I was the same as you. If it doesn't slow down to a more manageable rate or you have any other concerns, get checked out but it's v v common.

Did you find the same thing during your period? I always have looser, more frequent poos during my period and it's a similar hormonal response.

Phew! Thank you so much for replying!

Sorry 3cups you started a thread the same Blush I had a look through the search to see if there was any before I posted.

Pearl, they never found anything wrong. I never had any probs at all with ds, and had blood tests galore and nothing had come back.
I'm on a recurrent mc trial at the moment, and thought tonight j wonder if it is the injection I have to take every day, but I don't know if I'm having a drug or a placebo!!

At least I know it's normal now! Thanks ladies :)
