12 week scan at 11 w 4

Hi, I have my 12 week NHS scan at 11 week 4. The problem is, I'm worried they won't be able to see anything. I had an early scan at 8 wk 6 and it didn't look anything like a baby scan picture! We heard a heartbeat & it was lovely but nothing like a baby. Will there be that much of a difference in under 3 weeks? Xx

First pregnancy I had my 12 week scan at 11+5 and baby wasn't big enough to get the measurements they needed so I had to go back a week later. It was partly the position of the baby aswell though so it may be if yours is in the right position it will be ok.

My scan was 11+5 this time and it was fine. Baby was positioned badly for the nuchal fold measurements, not helped by my tilted uterus, but they got all the other measurements they needed and I went back for quad bloods a few weeks later.

I had mine at 11+5, I have a high bmi too, got a lovely photo and all the measurements needed

I must just have had a tiny one . I'm sure it will be fine OP, there is a massive change between 8 weeks and 12 weeks. I had a private scan at 8+5 and it was a blob, compared to an actual baby looking thing at 12 weeks.

You'll be amazed at the difference a couple of weeks can make, although I had mine at12+6 I had my reassurance scan at 9 weeks and the difference between the two was massive :)

I was 10+4 at my '12 week scan' and they managed to get all the measurements they needed, I wouldn't worry too much and it will look like a baby. Hope all goes well

I was only 10 weeks with dc1 when I had my 12 week scan. They did it early as I was in hospital anyway with hyperemesis. They got all the measurements fine. I had earlier scans too and it is just like a blob and very tiny. I never thought my scans looked 'baby-like' really until the 20 week one.

I had my scan at 11+4 with a BMI of 31 and it was fine.

Yes there will be a MASSIVE difference! It's quite amazing actually. I had a scan at 8+2 and there was a blob and a yolk sac. 3 weeks later there was a baby with arms and long legs and everything! Good luck with your scan.
