Hi ladies I am 39+3 .
I have lots of commplications so at hospital app wednesday Dr offered a stretch and sweep . Ive never had one before . Bloody hell it hurt but I didnt care ! She thought I have a good chance of it working . So 30 mins later I was having regular contractions every5-10 mins for 4 hours ! Then it all fizzled out :-( .
So Thursday evening lost my plug (gross) . Since then just had random contractions .
Today Friday heading to midwife for another stretch and sweep .
Has anyone had one after they lost the plug ? Will it be more sucesful if last one kind of worked .
Any advice ?
Thanks x

2nd one should give you the kick start you need seeing as your 2cms already, good luck!
I had one at 38 and 39 wks in my last pregnancy but nothing happened as my cervix wasn't that ready, then at 40+3 a sweep finally worked.
Wishing you all the best.

Have sex after your sweep.....sperm has prostaglandins in which help get things going!!

Sweeps are so hit and miss. They only really work if you're about to go into labour anyway. Worth trying but often not too useful. Try not to be too demoralised. Your body is gearing up, cervix is moving in the right direction and it could happen any time. Please do not worry about sex or long walks or curry if you haven't the heart for them. They are total myths and won't help. I know you probably want to DO something. You can. you can look after yourself, make sure you are content and relaxed and pleasing yourself. That's very good for you.

Won't be long. Best of luck.
