Anyone else avoiding pre-eclampsia?

Guyropes · 23/01/2015 19:41

Just had the consultant review my booking and been put down as high risk for developing pre-eclampsia. I'm 13 weeks.

I've been given aspirin to take daily.
I'll need my blood pressure monitoring more closely and growth scans.

Anyone else? It would be great to exchange information about this, and to know I'm not alone!

Baby girl has arrived safely by c-section this afternoon. She is 2lb 11oz and doing well, breathing on her own and all her tests are good. I am hoping to be able to visit her shortly

Congratulations Flowers

Congratulations dances Thanks

Congratulations dances. Good news on breathing and tests. Hope you get a visit and cuddle soon.

SCBU is a slog but once your home all will be worth it.

dancestomyowntune · 05/02/2015 00:49

I have been down to visit her and managed to express some milk for her too. She is so beautiful and I am completely overwhelmed by how well she appears to be doing. Obviously it is early days, but she has good vital signs, is breathing on her own, has beautiful clear skin (no vernix even) and even briefly opened her eyes when I was down there. I am so pleased that she is doing so well. My main concern was how she would cope with being ten weeks early.

DrDiva · 05/02/2015 06:29

dances that all sounds so positive! I'm glad she is doing so well. Please do look after yourself though - prem newborn days are a long slog, particularly as milestones will be met at adjusted age. Be kind and gentle to yourself. How are you doing?

dancestomyowntune · 05/02/2015 07:02

I am not too bad. They have started Iv antibiotics because my temp is slightly raised but I feel fine. Would just like to lose the lines! Three lines and a catheter making life difficult to move!

DrDiva · 05/02/2015 07:05

Ah yes, the lines! Kind of like being anchored at the quay...

Feelingsomewhatblue · 05/02/2015 09:30

Thinking of you both and sending positive love your way Flowers

Guyropes · 05/02/2015 19:18

Congratulations dances hope you're both doing well Flowers

Thank you all. I am finally feeling a bit more normal. No cannulas left in ( two we're failing anyway !) catheter removed this am too so I can move freely now!

My beautiful baby girl is doing so well. I keep waiting for her to have a set back ( which I am sure at some point she will). But so far she is doing us all proud.

My other children have all been in and had a peek at her. We (that is dh and I) have had several periods of skin to skin with her, and I even got to change her nappy earlier on!

On cloud nine at the moment!
