Hello,

I'm 11+3wks, went for my dating scan today, baby is fine & very active but Was given a very poor quality image which is very blurry. Sonographer was very rude!!

So me & hubby were thinking to have a 3d/4d scan, would like to know when is it best to go for this/how many weeks? (So we get a good sighting of our little one)

Any suggestions would be appreciated xx

Hi I went at 28 weeks and the pics were great ... The sonographer was really nice and there policy was that if the pictures weren't clear they would repeat session . I know they do say not after 32 weeks roughly as baby can drop down .

I think they recommend between 25 and 32 weeks approx. You should have another scan on the NHS at 20 weeks anyway so will hopefully get a clearer view of the baby. IME scans before 12 weeks are usually pretty grainy/unidentifiable!

3d/4d are best done between 24 and 32 weeks ... babies can look a little strange before that time! Why not consider a gender scan at 16 weeks ... If you go with Babybond they do a complimentary peek in 4d realview at that scan as part of price?
