blood trace in urine sample at 28 week app

Hi
Has anyone had traces of blood (not visible) in their urine sample? Just had my 28 week midwife appointment and was at first told I had "loads of sugar in urine" but she checked again and it was actually blood traces. Midwife was quite vague and said it's probably a water infection but I haven't had any other symptoms.
She also said my bump was measuring a bit large but was ok, although I think this may have been because the app was late and I was desperate for a wee! It hurt my bladder when she was feeling for baby's position.

Any experiences of blood in urine? I have to call in a week if I haven't had the lab results back by then.

Thanks :)

Blood in urine is one sign of infection but there would be other signs on the dipstick. It can occasionally be kidney stones or they don't find a reason. It sounds as if they are investigating it. I assume they have sent your sample to the lab for analysis.
Hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

Had this and they put it down to an underlying infection and gave me antibiotics. I then had a urine infection tho they were not sure if two were related. But I felt better after a week or so :)

I had blood in urine, as I understand you are vulnerable to bladder/water infections in pregnancy although most of them your body handles and just flushes out.

Mine didn't go away, I felt a bit fluey - but otherwise OK - but even I could spot the difference in the second wee sample sorry if tmi but it was cloudy and lumpy for want of a better word.

Soon had some antibiotics and everything settled down fine.

I literally had this last week too. Turned out to be a kidney infection which I'm on antibiotics for now.

I've had it with all of my pregnancies (now on number 4) they investigated infection but there was nothing. The midwife told me that it is more common than you think. Try not to worry.
