Terrible pain at night

Hi ladies im 31+5 weeks pregnant and for the last week having terrible pain above my ribs but can't pinpoint exactly where it is coming from. It only happens at night when in bed and relaxed. If I turn over it's as though a deel muscle inside is being ripped in two. It's excruciating pain. Has anyone else had anything similar? X

There is muscle in that area that is parting as your abdominal area is stretched outwards and upwards. I had a ripping pain towards the end with it.

It usually goes back together afterwards by itself but there are specific exercises you can do from a few days after birth to help it heal. I had a physio come round to check the width of the gap whilst I was on the ward and to give me a leaflet about the exercises.

Saying that, it's worth checking with your midwife in case it's something else entirely! That was just my experience.
