Would you or have you used one for your newborn?
Would you recommend it?

I used a Maclaren Techno XLR for DS1 from birth with the Maclaren carrycot attachment (not sure if they still make that). I got it mainly as we needed something lightweight and bus friendly. He loved it...would nap in there for 2 hours while we were out and about. Even at 3 he'd doze off in it for a solid nap if we were out. It was bumpy but that didn't seem to be a problem at any point...he seemed soothed by it. I hated him facing away from me and didn't like the 2 separate handles as it made one handed pushing hard, but it lasted 4 years, with heavy daily use for the first 2.5 years. We had no problems with it at all, unlike all my friends with Bugaboos (this was over 4 years ago, when they had wheel issues). I'm not buying a Maclaren for my second baby though (due soon) as I want this one to face me. Using my sister's second hand Bugaboo Bee for regular use and a second hand Phil and Ted for park visits where we go off road.
