When am I meant to be seen??

Currently I am having my third baby, first one had special medical needs, second baby was fine.
I'm also 41.
According to the calendar I am 11 weeks today, although I'm sure I am a week or two behind.
I can't recall how it was with the first two, but so far apart from having my details taken by the healthcare assistant, I haven't seen or spoken to anyone.
I have no notes and no scan booked.
I have phoned the Drs surgery twice now, and have been assured that "the midwife will get in touch, they are probably behind" but in fairness I have never waited this long for some contact!
So who do I ring? Do I ring the Maternity unit where I am going to give birth, or do I just wait?
I am a bit anxious, as whether or not I had a healthy baby after, my first baby was very unwell, and still has problems six years on.
I don't want to be a fusspot, as I am aware it's my third baby, and I know the system changes every five minutes, it I don't want to keep waiting only to find I was actually overlooked?

You should have a scan booked by now and a booking app and bloods.

Ring the midwives and harass until you have your apps.

Yes.
The GP's referred you, so it's up to them to give you the app.
Make a fuss.
You should have your first scan at 12 weeks.

Thanks, I know the scans are around 12 weeks, I guessed that hadn't changed, but I'm almost certain to be less than 11 weeks, so that's not so much my worry, as the fact I've not had an appt to see anyone yet.
I will try the Maternity ward on Monday and get to the bottom of it.

Sometimes the scan is the first app and they do the booking and bloods after that.
Did you have the previous pregnancies in the same hospital? They will have your notes on file if you did.

You can self refer for pregnancy so just call the midwives at the hospital, or the community midwives contact number (often on the hospital website contact list) and tell them you need to book a scan.

Yes, well the 2nd one was at the same hospital three years ago, so hopefully they might.
I would like to get the stuff at least booked I must say, especially as I would like to be able to tell people before Christmas!

This is my second baby, I didn't have a booking in app until 16 weeks as in my area they are super busy at the mo. The m/w called me when I was about 11 weeks and sent my scan referral over, and I have the first scan at 14ish weeks. I did give them a chase at the m/w led unit in the hospital, no harm in ringing them.

Your 1st scan at 14 weeks is very late. To late for certain screenings. I would chase that up Hula & them being busy isn't good enough. Hopefully everything is fine but if it's not 14 weeks is too late.

I saw my midwife and she realised I was 10+1 thinking I was around 8 in reality. So rushed to do my bloods there and then. I am surprised you haven't had a booking in appointment. I'm not sure where you are but here in hereford they no longer give you green notes. It's all on iPads now. Which I hate. I had my first scan a couple if weeks after. I'm not sure if the maternity ward can do anything as it's a community midwife. Could you ask the dr for their number so you can call them. Bless you. I hope you get it sorted. Congratulations xxx

Tbh the way they do it has changed each baby I have had, last time I saw a Dr who confirmed my pregnancy, but this time they said you don't see a Dr you see the healthcare assistant, and they don't do the pee on a stick either now!

I agree, you should chase midwifery team, as 12 weeks is normal for scan & booking appt. I am having similar problem, as my first bokking appt & scan was at 9 weeks (due to mc first pregnancy at 7 weeks in Jan) and have had two scans since at same hospital, but no other contact. Am now 23 weeks, so wondering if I should chase about next midwifery appt because its first baby, am 38 years old and have thyroid condition so want my bloods checked again really now our little boy is getting bigger. One of my sisters is type 1 diabetic too, which midwife knows, so did expect a little more 'keeping an eye' on things; our other sister just had her first in Nov (also boy) & seems to havebeen bit more watched than me, she's 37, but lives near Bristol, we live Berkshire - starting to think its a pospostcode lottery as with other NHS treatment. Should I chase?? Also, while discussing, my midwife is gay and a scream, great fun, proposed to hubby while we were there, but am bit concerned about having man rather than a woman, could I get away with swapping?

The xray unit & midwifery team don't seem to be communicating with each other, is that right or should they be sharing info as its same hospital?

Cos, I have questions I want to ask & want to build relationship with my midwifery team before delivery, bet you feel same izziewizzie?
