Hiya,

Basically I've just found out this week that I'm pregnant. Don't get me wrong I'm over the mood, but abit frustrated because I don't know how many weeks.

I went to see a doctor on Thursday whom took my dates for periods & advised I'm 5weeks preg. Only prob, I'm feeling quite big around the stomache, bump showing. Just wondering weather I could be couple more weeks?

But as my last period was on 27th Oct, he counted from there. But my mum & nan had periods through out all pregnancies so I could be the same?!

I wanted to know wether anyone knows if I would be able to go for a sooner sonography than 10-14weeks?

Just getting abit worried, thinking I could be more weeks & don't get seen for a scan until later on. Still quite long to wait.

Thanks in advance xx

It's possible if you think you may have been having periods despite being pregnant. However it's quite normal to bloat in very early pregnancy, which can look like a baby bump. I looked about 20 weeks pregnant at 5 weeks with my first. The bloating then went down and I didn't actually show properly until about 24 weeks. You can pay for private early scans which would give you an idea about dates. Otherwise the only thing to do would be to discuss your concerns with the Dr/midwife.

My dr dated me at 6 weeks 4 days and scan today showed I'm around 4-5 weeks. Only way to be sure is a scan. Can go private, we have booked one for £99 but they only date from 7 weeks. I know they have mixed reviews but looking back those clear blue digital were right for me if I added 2 weeks on which I've been told to do xx

A clear blue digital only goes up to 3+ weeks so taking it after 5 weeks won't make things any clearer unfortunately.

Oh yeah I was thinking if the doctor had gotten dates wrong like they did me xxxx

Thank you for your replies.

I'm so bloated, which I have never been before so in thinking bump. But as you said it's common to bloat in early stages, so could be. So confused on what to do.

Could anyone also recommend private clinic? (London) thanks x

I'm really bloated too. Got a round tummy too which is annoying. I found the clinic just by typing in private ultrasounds into Google. Good luck hun xx
