I went to NCT classes today at 35 weeks pg. I am the only Mummy not to have felt baby hiccup in the womb. Should I be concerned?

36 weeks - probably due to see the midwife this week, if i remember correctly? why not discuss it with her? i'm sure she will be able to set your mind at rest, especially if you are otherwise feeling frequent movement.

best of luck!

Oh yes, I mean this baby doesn't stop moving! S/he is always wiggling around, but I have never felt hiccups, just sometimes the sensation in my tummy as if s/he has opened something fizzy, a bubbley sensation, like the early flutterings one feels at the beginning of pregnancy.

Well to add my experience, dd was not overly active or hiccupy in the womb but was a colicky baby with reflux; ds was VERY active in the womb and didn't have either colic or reflux! (But I will add he is now a very active 3 yr old!)

There you go - I just did a search on it and a doctor on medicinenet replied to just this query about frequent hiccups in the womb! He replied "this is perfectly normal fetal activity and has no relationship to possible future colic"! HTH

My three month old always had the hiccups whilst I was pregnant with her. Guess what? She has been colicky! With my son I never once felt the hiccups and he never suffered with wind problems.
