Anyone else hoping the full moon on Thursday will induce labour??

I know this is probably just another old wives tale but I'm a believer that a full moon has some weird effects on people.
Just read somewhere that you should face the full moon and rub your belly clockwise to help induce labour. I'm not convinced its that easy obviously but will probably give it a go haha! Grin
Apparently the theory behind it is that the moon has the same influence on the water in your body as it does on tides etc so can help to break your waters.
God I sound ridiculous and desperate - anyone had any their baby on or near a full moon??? Blush

I hadn't realised it was a full moon on Thursday.

I'm 40 +2 at the moment but if not gone my Thursday I'll try that!

Anything's worth trying in my opinion Grin

Hi Elle, ha ha I do believe in the full moon thing but I've also heard that our local mat unit often gets closed on full moons too due to the increase in deliveries. I really don't fancy the hours drive up the road to the next one :/

ElleOhElle · 04/11/2014 21:54

oh no, I didn't think of that!! you're still waiting too then!! Wink

Me!!! Due on Monday and all along I've assumed / hoped that the combination of fireworks tonight following by full moon Thursday will tempt the baby out.

I doubt it very much. Hmm

Bellyrub1980 · 05/11/2014 20:24

I know. It's a bit of a joke now. Well... It is for everyone else I think.

Induction Sunday! Unless the moon works it's magic.... Wink

Anything bellyrub??
I'm feeling nothing today! Think I'm in for the long haul!

Nah nothing! I did the whole 70 minute pregnancy yoga DVD today in the hope that it would optimise her position and get labour going. But all it does is just makes her wriggle loads and bear her head down.

Just 2 more days to fill and then I'll be induced..... Bring it on!!!

Bellyrub1980 · 06/11/2014 15:14

Elle, it's SO frustrating isn't it?! From 37 weeks we think 'oooh could be any time now!!' And then over a month later and STILL SOD ALL!!!!

ElleOhElle · 06/11/2014 16:17

I know, I'm not even due til tmw and I'm already driving myself crazy. Done lots of walking and had a few pains this afternoon but don't think it's anything! Bring on the moon lol
