I had a m/c in July and I'm 8 weeks pg again and I'm bleeding bright red blood. I phoned the on call doctor and she said if I'm miscarrying there's nothing they can do and just to sit it out for now. Gave me the patter about chromosomal defects and for the best etc. I burst into tears and she said to take some paracetamol and hung up.

Anyway, she phoned back 2mins ago and said would I like an EPAU appointment as I'm so upset. Said yes, she said phone in half an hour and she'd tell me when the appointment is.

So, I'm at work, none of my colleagues know. I'm trying to stop the tears running down my face and it's going wrong for the second time in three months.

Please talk to me

Hi all.

Thank you so, so much for all your positive wishes and thoughts. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me that you responded when I was feeling so alone. I honestly love MN for the way it has picked me up in the last few months, today is just another example.

Anyway, DH took me to A&E who prodded and poked me for ages and then left me alone for two hours. They then sent me to a ward where I sat for a further four hours. Eventually got seen by a doctor (was still bleeding and terrified) who did a normal scan, a vaginal scan and an internal. We saw a heartbeat on both scans and my notes now say 'viable singleton pg, FHS' which is the best thing I have seen written down in my life (and I have degrees in literature ). The doctor said I have cervical erosion and this is causing the bleeding and she spent ages scanning me, showing me my ovaries, the corpus luteum, the sac and most importantly the baby with the beating heart.

I have an 'open access' card to the maternity ward so I can go back at any time without a referral should I have any more problems. I'm also booked in for another scan on Thurs (just routine apparently) and they dated the pg at approx 7+4 (I'm 7+5 by my dates).

Thank you, all of you, for thinking of me today. I am so grateful. I am exhausted. Pizza. Bed. In that order.

Marvellous news. How wonderful. I'm in bits ATM as I have to wait until tomorrow to have my TransV scan, I hope my news is as good as yours then we can celebrate together

ShowOfSeveredHands · 04/10/2006 08:30

Morning all!

Thanks for your messages this morning. Redbull, I'm so glad everything went well for you too, I posted on your thread about it yesterday looking for news. for you

Megg- I know how you feel, I was terrified. You don't dare hope that it could all be ok. I couldn't bear the waiting, I just wanted to know either way. I know that there is nothing I can say to help (I knew myself yesterday that bleeding in early pg was extremely common, but that offered no comfort at all when I was faced with the worst). The doctor I saw was fantastic- especially with DH who when it came to the TransV scan fell to bits. I really do hope that your news is identical to mine and we'll catch up on the May thread and celebrate with an orange juice.
