Bloody discharge at 26 weeks - TMI warning

so in the shower today I noticed a small, maybe teaspoon full size discharge which was slightly bloody. freaked me out a bit as this is my 3rd baby and have never experienced it before. have had two miscarriages since last baby so am a bit more nervous this time. I was induced with DS and sectioned with DD so have never seen a mucous plug or part of one.

TMI but I had just had a bowel movement and as i'm on iron it's more of a struggle than usual Blush but not sore or anything and no blood when I wiped but maybe that was where the blood came from?

have been wearing a pad since just in case and nothing more thank god. anyone experience anything similar?

Straining for a bowel movement can dislodge cervical mucus. It's unlikely the mucus came from your bottom though.

I would ring a MW just to be safe, but if there's no sign of any more it's probably nothing to worry about.

I had a similar thing in my first pregnancy at 18 weeks. They said they thought it may be due to a bowel movement dislodging some cervical mucus. It only happened once. No issues after with any bleeding. I rang mw and they listened to heartbeat. They may offer a scan at your stage though so I would definitely ring your mw.

Thanks girls. Nothing since (despite carrying my crying two year old up a hill!) so not worried, am sure it was just cervical mucus. I get scanned every two weeks and baby moving fine. Think I'm just a bit more apprehensive this time.
