Red rash on bump SO ITCHY! Anyone know what it might be?

I'm 35 weeks, and for the last week my bump has been extremely itchy. Saw midwife last week and the baby has turned transverse, and at first I assumed the itching was because of stretching in a new direction, but for the last couple of days an actual rash has appeared all over my bump. It's red (bright red at its worst) with white mottled patches all over. It's very itchy. I can't find anything that fits it online - lots of pregnancy rashes, but none of this exact description. Has anyone had anything similar?

Our local midwife is only at the GP surgery on Wednesdays and I'm worried about leaving it that long in case it is something that needs attention - would people say I'd be justified in getting an emergency GP appointment tomorrow?

Have you looked up PUPPP? It's a pregnancy rash, my friend suffered from it and could only get relief from bathing, she was having 4 or 5 cool baths a day to try and relieve it.
I'd definitely try and see the GP as soon as you can.

I had something similar. Itchy doesn't begin to describe it, does it? Keep an eye on hands and feet and if you get itchiness there too I'd get seen sooner rather than later to rule out obstetric cholestasis but definitely mention it to mw. GP may prescribe anti histamines and / or steroid cream to help. You have my sympathies.

I've had PUPP in two out of three pregnancies. Both girls, although it was told it was more common in boys! (No itching at all in boy pregnancy).

It's miserable, completely miserable. My arms and bump were bleeding and I was scratching in my sleep. Best "treatment" was not to scratch but to run the pads of my fingers over the itchy parts. I used calamine cream too. Cool showers/baths etc - it's all about trying to make yourself comfortable for as long as possible. My arms, bump and thighs were the worst.

Having said all that, I was induced at 36 weeks with dd1 and 38 weeks with dd2 as it was unbearable and the specialist obstetrician was very sympathetic. It went immediately I gave birth.

my sister in law had this - PUPP. Think it's an allergy to the birth hormone.

I was thinking it couldn't be PUPP as the descriptions say 'raised bumps', and I don't really have that, the rash is smooth, but reading it again, it might be. The white halos around the rash fit.
